In 2025, Hecter Agri Tech partnered with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) to implement a youth-focused agricultural development project centered on greenhouse farming. Through this collaboration, we supported the construction of nine fully equipped greenhouses, designed to provide controlled environments for year-round crop production and demonstration of climate-smart practices.

The project directly benefited over 20 young farmers, offering them both infrastructure and hands-on training in modern farming techniques such as efficient irrigation, crop rotation, pest management, and sustainable input use. By combining access to facilities with targeted capacity building, the initiative not only improved agricultural productivity but also promoted youth engagement in agribusiness — a critical step in creating employment opportunities and reducing rural unemployment.

This partnership with TİKA reflects Hecter Agri Tech’s commitment to empowering the next generation of Somali farmers and ensuring that agriculture remains an attractive and profitable sector for young people. The project continues to stand as a model of how international cooperation and local expertise can work together to build resilient, inclusive, and innovative farming communities.
