In 2025, Hecter Agri Tech partnered on the Barwaaqo Project, a World Bank–funded initiative designed to strengthen Somalia’s agricultural sector through education and capacity building. Over the course of five months, our team implemented Field Farmers School (FFS) activities across eight districts in the Galgaduud and Mudug regions.

The project focused on equipping farmers with practical, hands-on training in areas such as improved crop management, irrigation techniques, soil health, and climate-smart agriculture. By using the Field Farmers School model, we provided a community-based learning platform where farmers could share experiences, test new practices, and apply modern techniques directly to their fields.

Beyond technical training, the project emphasized sustainability and resilience, ensuring that farmers are better prepared to cope with environmental challenges, increase productivity, and improve household food security. The Barwaaqo Project also strengthened collaboration between local communities, government institutions, and development partners, creating a stronger foundation for Somalia’s long-term agricultural growth.

This initiative highlights Hecter Agri Tech’s role as a trusted implementation partner in large-scale, donor-funded agricultural development projects, and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to empowering rural communities through knowledge, innovation, and sustainable practices.
